Modern gaming setups often find satisfaction in the capabilities of gaming hardware and capture software for recording and streaming purposes. However, for professional streamers seeking top-tier results, dedicated internal PCIe cards can make a significant difference.
AVerMedia has unveiled two new PCIe cards designed specifically for game capture and streaming tasks. The Taiwan-based manufacturer now presents the Live Gamer 4K 2.1 recording card, a PCIe version of the previously introduced Live Gamer Ultra 2.1 USB device, and the entry-level Live Streamer Ultra HD card.
The Live Gamer 4K 2.1 is hailed by AVerMedia as the world's premier consumer-grade HDMI 2.1 PCIe capture card. This device boasts HDMI 2.1 connectivity, Ultra HD recording, and high frame rate support for seamless streaming. Gamers can capture a 4K60 video clip or broadcast in 4K at 144Hz with VRR passthrough and HDR support, ensuring an immersive and visually stunning experience.
On the other hand, the Live Streamer Ultra HD card caters to early explorers in the live-streaming realm. While it offers 4K resolutions, it operates at lower frame rates (60/30 fps) compared to its high-end counterpart. However, users have the flexibility to boost the frame rate up to 120 by opting for lower resolutions (1080p) when capturing game sessions.
AVerMedia's CEO highlights their commitment to meeting the diverse needs of the streaming community, stating, "Whether you're seeking to play the latest 4K games, looking for HDMI 2.1 compatibility, or preferring PCIe connectivity, we've been continually expanding our capture card line."
For added convenience, AVerMedia provides RECentral, a free dedicated software accompanying the new capture cards. This program enables simultaneous streaming and broadcasting across multiple platforms such as Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook. RECentral seamlessly integrates with other third-party capturing and live-streaming platforms.
Interested users can already find AVerMedia's capture devices available for purchase on Amazon. The Live Gamer 4K 2.1 card is priced at a suggested retail price of $270, while the entry-level Live Streamer Ultra HD card comes in at $180.
It's important to note that AVerMedia's capture cards offer low-latency recording and streaming capabilities primarily for PCs but can also be compatible with consoles/PC setups. To make the most of the hardware, users will need a spare PCIe slot. Alternatively, software-based solutions like OBS Studio or GeForce ShadowPlay can still deliver excellent results for streaming and recording tasks with sufficiently powerful hardware.
