Samsung Galaxy feature snapdragon 8 4th gen & 5th gen for their upcoming smartphone
Samsung's relentless efforts to move tech forward are never more glaring than when it comes to its top-tier smartphones — case in point, the Exynos 2400-packing Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus, seen here in the wild. Just when it feels like Samsung's processor tech has finally hit its stride, it takes yet another step forward (and away from the competition).
Before you get all crazy, it doesn't mean Samsung's future phones are going to be rocking Snapdragon-branded SoCs. Interestingly, Samsung is still teaming up with Qualcomm for future devices. So, yes, upcoming Samsung Galaxy flagships and the like will indeed run Qualcomm's SoCs. That close-knit relationship alluded to above is pretty close, after all. The arrangement was highlighted during Qualcomm's Q4 2023 earnings call, the company saying that the partnership extends its work on upcoming devices and notes that the move "demonstrates continued mutual commitment and (the) leadership of both companies in technology."
In the meantime, this Qualcomm partnership wasn't stopping Samsung from working on its Exynos system-on-chips. The word on the street was that the Galaxy S25 would have you gaming on a modern Exynos 2500 chipset, complete with a 3-nanometer architecture, an Arm Cortex-X5 superstore, and an Xclipse 950 GPU. In other words, Samsung didn't want to cede control of the bleeding-edge processor technology.
The standout feature of Samsung flagships is the fact that they incorporate both Snapdragon and Exynos systems. This choice hammers home the idea that Samsung wants to have various tech options for users at their disposal. Each flagship will therefore come with superior performance that’s been especially tailored to specific market needs.
As the launch date of the Galaxy S25 looms ever closer, the anticipation is palpable from enthusiasts with regards to the Exynos 2500. This is an important one, showing the incredible synergy between Samsung and Qualcomm in their delivery of leading-edge smartphones to fans around the world. The dedication of Samsung to innovation and adaptability in the processor world is something to keep a close eye on.
