Ayaneo has just rolled out the AM02 Retro mini PC, a nifty little gadget that draws inspiration from the beloved NES gaming console. Let's take a closer look at what makes this mini PC tick.
The Ayaneo AM02 Retro mini PC is pint-sized, measuring a mere 0.9 liters in volume. It rocks a 4-inch touch panel LCD on top, boasting a variety of functions. You can use it to check real-time hardware metrics, tweak TDP on the fly, adjust volume, set up animations, and more. The design is pretty cool, featuring a front-opening mechanism that neatly conceals interfaces.
Under the hood, the AM02 runs on AMD’s R7 7840HS processor, a powerhouse tailor-made for mini PCs and ultrabooks. It supports up to 64GB of dual-channel DDR5 5600MHz RAM and offers a whopping 8TB SSD storage with a read speed topping 7000MB/s.
To keep things cool, Ayaneo has equipped the AM02 with a sizable turbine fan and a generous 68105mm² aluminum fin for efficient heat dissipation. The cooling system also includes a new four-copper pipe cooling setup, supporting high-speed M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 SSDs.
In terms of software, the AM02 comes pre-loaded with Windows 11 64-bit Home Edition and AYASpace 2.0, a comprehensive software management system. It's got a bunch of interfaces too, including two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports, two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, a 3.5mm headphone jack, HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.4, and dual RJ45 ports for speedy Ethernet connections.
On the connectivity front, the AM02 supports WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 and can handle displays with up to 4K@144Hz. It's not bulky either, measuring 146 x 134 x 48mm and weighing around 538g, depending on the SSD and memory setup. The AM02 is a versatile gadget, capable of running different operating systems and functioning as a mini-game console, router, or NAS. It even comes with a bunch of accessories, including a 100W PD power adapter, HDMI cable, USB-C power cable, and more.
Now, let's talk turkey. The Ayaneo AM02 Retro Mini PC comes in various pricing tiers. The barebone model, rocking an AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS processor, starts at an early bird price of $439, with an Indiegogo retail price of $479 and an official retail price of $499. If you want a bit more power, the 16GB + 512GB version starts at $529 (early bird), $599 (Indiegogo), and $659 (official retail). There's also a 16GB + 1TB variant at $569 (early bird), $639 (Indiegogo), and $699 (official retail). And for the big guns, the 32GB + 1TB version can be yours for $629 (early bird), $699 (Indiegogo), and $769 (official retail). And guess what? Shipping is on the house!
You can snag one for yourself by pre-ordering now, and deliveries kick off in early February. In China, you can find it on both JD.com and Tmall Store.
